Shower Question

If someone didn't go to your bridal shower and gave you no gift with no explanation why, would you go to that persons shower and give them a gift?

hmmm, I might send a small gift, but probably would not attend. Especially if it were someone who I would *expect* to attend mine & did not.

yes, i would give that person a gift. personally, it's her business why she couldn't make it to your shower.

ps - Ryan Gosling is YUMMY! i'm watching The Notebook as we speak. such a romantic movie. =D

Also - if you do go do you give her a less expensive gift then you usually give. This is where i think i am leaning.

Re: Shower Question

I think I would give the same amount as I normally give, depending on how close I am to this person.

Re: Shower Question

In the situation you described, I would NOT go, nor would I send a gift.

I had a cousin not attend. But, her child woke up very sick that morning and she explained the situation. She also sent a very generous gift. So, no hard feelings there.

But, if she just vanished and didnt' send a card, I'd be hurt.

did she give an explanation of why she couldnt come?

Re: Shower Question

I wouldn't bother going but if I was close enough with the person I might send a small gift. I doubt the person would wonder why I didn't give more!!

No she didn't. She is a my best friends fiance. And i was pretty hurt that i got no explanaton. It's one thing not to go, but no acknowledgement. But i am still having an issue with saying no. I don't know what to do.

If you're having an issue with saying no, be the bigger person and go. You never know, she may feel bad and say something. If she doesn't, then you know she's not worth the effort anymore.

ETA: I had that happen to me once, and it did not end the way I hoped, but I gave her one opportunity to redeem herself, and she didn't, so now I'm not as close to her anymore. It hurts, but I feel better knowing that I did what I could.

Re: Shower Question

I personally would not go. I would have a hard time sitting there and pretending to be happy when all I'm really thinking is that this person didn't even have the decency to acknowledge my shower my calling...something. I would make plans for that day and if someone asked say you had something else important to do.

If you go and she doesn't say anything about yours then I think you will leave being even more pissed. Don't go and this way when you go to the wedding you can be happy and smile genuinely.
