When we had a shower in late sept for my sister we did large basket cornacopias with moss lining the bottom and gourds and berries on the inside. They looked great everyone wanted to take them.
My Mom and Sister bought champagne buckets and gave them to the florist to fill with different colored daisies since they are my favorite flower. And now I have the bucket as a momento!
We did a cosmo themed shower for a friend a few years ago. We found giant martini glasses at michaels and filled them with water, dropped a little red food coloring in them to turn them pink, floated a few candles in them and put a a large lime wedge on the rim - it looked really cute and everyone was eager to take one home with them.
My shower was Tiffany themed so they had glass bowls filled w/ white and Tiffany blue jelly beans
my shower location (Garden City Hotel) had glass bubble vases with a few different colored tulips in each vase and the girls added some glitter to the table. originally, before they knew about that they were goign to get vases for floating candles and add about 2-3 floating colored flower candles and glass marbles at the bottom.
I went to a shower recently that had the edible fruit centerpieces. They were a big hit and soooo yummy.
I just had my shower a few weeks ago, and my mom had really cute balloon centerpieces made - they were these huge clear balloons with little heart ballons inside (in my wedding colors) and they ahd tulle and ribbons attaching them to a flower wreath.
for my shower we are having large lenox canisters that will be wrapped up in tule and we will give them away to the guests.
I just planned my dad's 60th birthday party at Katy Daly's and the centerpieces we used were different colored gerber daisies at each table. They looked so pretty! I got them at Home Depot for $3.33 each. They really made the room look so pretty. They were simple and perfect.
I had mid-high floral cP as well as balloons.
