i was thinking about this the other night...when youre opening up presents, does someone write down for you what everyone got you? So that you can write it in the thank yous??

My BM did that for me.. You can also tape the card to the gift but I think your best bet would be to write it down incase the card falls off the present.
Writing it down was very helpful!

Yes, definitely have someone do that. My sis did it for me at mine, and it was unbelievably helpful when I was writing thank yous

yep. you can print out a list of all the people who RSVP'ed and use that on the day so you can list the present given next to each person. it made it so much easier. on top of that the cards are kept with the gift too so the bride can double check later.

ok thanks! And one more question...when youre opening up presents, did you just scream out thank you to the person who got you it?? I cant imagine getting up to thank each person after opening each gift...

From past showers I've been to, or when I've been a BM and had to help, if your bridal party is organized, they should give a job to a BM to write down the gifts that you get so you'll know afterwards who gave you what. Also, as a backup, you should have a BM whose job it is to also tape the card to the gift.
My friend was just saying at her shower recently how she had no idea who gave what to her because her BP wasn't organized during the whole gift opening.
Also, you should be able to just shout out Thank You when opening the gifts. There's no way you can open the gift, get up, kiss and hug the person and say thank you - you'd be there forever. So a shout out should be fine. When people are leaving and saying goodbye to you, you can then do your personal thank you then.

one of the BMs should write down the items as you open them.
One 'game' they did was have all the guest write down their names and mailing address on an envelope. then you pick one of the cards and they win a prize. therefore you can have a current list of all the address (so it saves you time on writing out the envelopes and just in case someone has moved)

Yes, while you're opening up presents, have the girls in your bridal party helping out. One should be handing you the present and disposing the gift wrap, and the other should have a pad and pen in her hand writing down what you got and who it's from as you say it out loud.

writing a list is usually your MOH's job.
its alot better than writing it on the box (as i've seen) on the off chance you need to return anything
