I knew my MOH was working on shower and bach party stuff even though I don't quite know what month I'm getting married in anymore. She emailed me yesterday and said she needs names and addresses!!
My question is that ALL of FH's family lives on the west coast, if she sends them invites does it look like I was expecting them to send me a present? I don't want to look like a B and ignore his side of the family. I love his stepmom but we don't really talk, so I feel weird calling her up and being like heyy soo here's whats going on.
Her and my mom haven't spoken yet (I'm making my mom email her this weekend) so I was thinking of maybe having her brooch the subject since my party is technically a 'surprise'

Re: Shower Question!!
I would have your mom reach out to his mom and tell your fmil that they are planning the shower and wanted her to give her the addresses of anyone from his family that should be invited. This way you are out of it!

Re: Shower Question!!
Yea...the shower invites are not being sent by you specifically so in a way if you get into an awkward invite you can always pull yourself out of it. IF they are close people to FH they might expect to be invited...but I wouldn't get carried away.

Re: Shower Question!!
Well thats the exact reason I didn't have an E-party... now that I live closer to LI I don't mind the shower or bparty, but I'm just not sure who to invite to the shower with everyone scattered.
I'll talk to my mom this weekend and make her talk to FsMIL as no one in our two families have ever met or talked to each other.

Re: Shower Question!!
My family covered me on this one! Both moms agreed that they need to send invites to every woman invited to the wedding strictly because it's good etiquette - you don't want to assume someone wouldn't be willing to fly in for the occassion.
