shower question ffor OOT ppl

Hi, I am from LI (north fork) and FH is from upstate. I also have family from upstate.

I don't know where to have my shower!! Part of me wants to have it upstate because that is closest for most people, but then I feel bad because my mom is down here and would have to travel to something that she will probably be mostly funding.

My MOH suggested maybe having two smaller showers, one for each area. Has anyone heard of this?

I don't know what to do. I have time but my mom and BM's will probably be discussing it at my eparty this summer.

some people do a few smaller showers a friend of mine did 1 for her family and 1 for his
both were fun and she had a blast at both

FH and I are the opposite of you, i am from upstate and FH is LI born and raised....
we are getting married upstate and i am having my shower down here to make it easy on everyone

i think it is up to you and what you want, i really wanted to get married here and my mom really wanted to do upstate so i offered the above as a compromise and try to please everyone. my mom really wanted the 2 smaller showers but i said i ask everyone to travel up for the wedding why cant you come down for the shower. i offered my extra bedrooms and space to anyone who wants to stay so i will have a full house but the more the better.

the only reason i didnt want 2 showers is i think this a good opportunity for the ladies to meet before the wedding and most of my friends are here and dont know any of my family, so now they will all meet

ps where upstate are is your FH from?

we are in buffalo FH has a few family members here but my shower will be on LI since that is where pretty much everyone else is. I think we might end up renting a uhaul trailer to being everything back unless we get a bunch of smaller things that can fit in the car but i do worry about how stuff will make it back home.

i hate to think it but i might have to return the bigger stuff and then rebuy it up here so that i don't have to transport it

I would suggest one shower on the west end of long island. I held a bridal shower at George Washington manor. The food was good and it was affordable. Not sure of any locations in queens.

If you held two showers, would your mom only go to the one shower on the island? If she would go to the one upstate also then she'd still be traveling.
