I know my shower is planned, invitations have started to go out.....so I can only assume it'll be happening in the next month or so....but I don't know anything else - time, place, anything. For other brides who had surprise showers, did you ever get wind of the plans, or was it a total surprise? Did you figure it on the way to the place or anything? I'm just asking because as much as I'm dying to know about it, I'm really excited about being surprised!

I was totally surprised. I thought that I knew when it was, when I started to get 'fake Invitations'
I really thought that I was attending a kids birthday that was actually my shower.

Oh yeah, it was a surprise. They told me it was the weekend after the weekend it actually was to throw me off track and also because DH (then FI) had purchases airline tickets for me to visit him in colorado for the following weekend. So, they threw me off with the date and made sure that I had no plans for the following weekend by telling me it was sometime that weekend so I could fly to Colorado. My moh lived in NYC and her parents live in Smithtown she asked if I could pick her up at Bethpage and drive her to her parents house because she doesn't drive and her mom doesn't either. So, I picked her up unshowered and drove out to smithtown when I got there I told her I'd call her later. She said 'no, come on in my mom misses you, you know Irish Guilt she will make you feel terrible if you don't say hi' my reply 'KC, I look like crap' her reply 'you know you mom, please' I then told her KC if this ends up being my shower and I look like crap I'm going to hate you forever please tell me now.. She replies 'Laurie, you do look like crap (I found out the night before we would have to postpone the wedding because my DH wasen't going to have leave from the USAF for our date) and I would totally tell you if it was' So, I get out of the car and walk up to her door. I open the damm door and there is my entire family.
I sure as hell was suprised and their was my MOH rolling on the floor laughing her butt off at me.

I have a really hard time imagining that there will be any way to surprise me, unless I do get tricked into thinking I'm going to another function.....
I am sooo nervous/excited about it! I really don't like being the center of attention.....

I knew what weekend is was because my MOH (my sister) who lives in Cali. was in for my bachlorette party. But they totally threw me for a loop! I was told we were going fishing (which was a normal activity for me and my husband to do) So we are in the car and he makes a turn saying 'I forgot to get bait' Thats when I knew something was fishy! I looked like I had just rolled out of bed! Didnt even brush my hair, wearing a sweatshirt, shorts and sneakers! I was so surprised and so embarrassed! I made my husband go home and get me different cloths and my makeup!!! I have to find a pict to post... It was so bad! I am really glad it was a surprise!

I saw the date written on a notepad at my parents' house the other day....and my dad had told me to keep a certain date open.....and then Grandma put her foot in her mouth and asked one of my BM at dinner last night (my brothers' GF) if she got her shower invite yet!!

I was completely surprised!!! I really thought I was going to another function...I was so sure that my shower would be the following weekend...it was great to be so surprised!!!

Unfortuanately...I will not be surprised. My sister and I picked the date together so we could work around the schedules...also I live in NJ and my best friend who I want to be there lives in Ohio. So, we had some coordinating to do. I don't know much of the details...but I know the date. I'm still excited though.

Nope, figured out the whole thing. It is hard for 60 women to keep there mouth shut, and it was the day after the blizzard, and the day b4, people were ignoring me and not calling me! I was so able to tell they were avoiding me on purpose. In fact my aunt made a poem up about it. I was still overwhelmed walking into a roomful of people that were there for me.

I know the date of mine but NOTHING else - They really couldn't surprise me since when I am home I have a lot to do and remember they would have to get me to NY - so it was easier to say it will be X date and tell me nothing more
