Showing shoulders in a church???

Showing shoulders in a church???

I went dress shopping today, and the girl who was helping me said that some churchs won't let you show your shoulders when you walk down the aisle.

I've never heard of this and never even thought of it.

Does anyone know anything about this?

This is true in a lot of parishes. If you are interested in strapless gowns, check with your parish on their 'shoulder' policy. Most strapless dresses will come with shawls or options to buy matching ones anyway. Mine came with a shawl. I don't believe my church has a shoulder rule but I'm prepared just in case

Regardless of the policy, not sure whether or not I will wear the shawl in the church anyway. I know my mom would prefer if I did!

I really don't want to have to wear something. I'm scared to ask and them tell me i have to wear something...so maybe if i just don't ask and have something in case of an emergency the day of the wedding.

I have a strapless dress and I don't really want to put on a shall or anything. I don't think I'm going to ask or even say anything. Just incase, I'll have one with me and if they happen to say something -I'll just put it on.
