SH!T--I AM FUMING

SH!T--I AM FUMING

We met with the Rabbi who will be performing at our interfaith ceremony a week ago THursday...

We have not heard anything from her, so I emailed her today, to touch base, and ask if she spoke with the Priest. She just emailed me backa nd said she spoke with him and he is still waiting for permission from his 'Superiors' to ok this wedding in the church...

OK...when we met with him, we had to sign papers that said we want to be married in the church, had to sign up for pre-cana classes out here in RI, and pay $85 for them...had to find our Rabbi, etc...The CHurch Secretary called to verify the time and place of the Ceremony, and gave me info on the Rehearsal, and TOld me to call back in June to make an appointment in July to meet with the Priest again to go over readings, etc...

Now, Why would tehy make me do all these things and not contact me at all since we met with him in January...what would be taking so long for them to OK?

I am so FUming...I am so aggravated, my wedding is LESS THAN 5 MONTHS AWAY...We were just about to put in our invitation order, and then this comes up...and we hear this from the RABBI..not Our Priest....He ahs been very difficult to get ahold of throughout this whole process...and this is just making it worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND...WHy is there no EMOTICON with a dude stomping his feet??@!?@!?@ I need that one!

sorry to hear you are having such a rough time with the priest. is there anyone else at the rectory/church that you can talk to, to get the ball rolling. i know that its getting kind of late, but just keep calling, don't buy the bs line about the 'permission', its all about the politics in the catholic church.

ps - yes, i am catholic so its ok for me to say that

Well, I tried talkin to his secretary and she sayds she cannto do anything..he does it all himself...I bet you if I gave a donation RIGHT NOW the ball would be rolling...I am just so disappointed....it does not take this long to 'get the OK'...but he did tell the Rabbi :'I don;t see it being a problem'....

I am Catholic Too, and at this poiint, might look into another church to get married at...on such short notice...who knows...I am just so pissed

i wasn't trying to imply that you dind't know anything about the cc. so far i've had no problems with my church. we met with the priest once and booked the date. i say look elsewhere, but do not tell the new church that you had problems with another church. i'm sure you know that they will look down on that. my church is the same way about talking to the priest, he is the only one who can ok any changes.

I am sorry if I came across sounding like you did not know what you were talking about...very sorry.

I was just trying to say I was catholic too...sorry if I came across being harsh

i don;t wanna look elsewhere.its the church I grew up in...I just thnk the priest is being a little bit slack at this point...we need to book a rehearsal dinner, order invites, and FH family is going to stay in the town of the ceremony the night before...and need to book rooms if its really gonna be in Sag Harbor, like we have been planning...

Thanks for the advice tho!

Calm down, you have time to do damage control if need be.
