Re: Shuttle Buses

We're using Coach USA. I don't have my wedding folder with me so I don't have the number. (It's packed for my trip to LI tonight). But we're getting a 49 passenger bus from 12:30 to 8:30 for $495. We saved $100 by taking a bus without a bathroom.

I called about 4 or 5 places and they were the best deal. If you do a search I posted about the other companies I spoke with.

Re: Shuttle Buses

I am using Coach USA as well...55 passenger bus for $850. all 55 have bathrooms. Its a good 40 minute drive between my church and reception so I think that is why it is more expensive. If I took the 49 it was $100 less.

On another note, I called Classic a few times and didn't get calls back. I even e-mailed. I finally got a call from the woman doing the wedding part and she said she had no more buses or vans for my date. I was a bit annoyed at myself as well for not booking it months in advance. She said I should have called in January. But lets be real here, did I really need to stress about buses so far in advance??? I didn't even have an idea of who was staying in January. Coach USA was really nice....they said they would need about 3 weeks in advance.

Re: Shuttle Buses

If you do a search -- there was a great posting from someone who literally called 3 or 4 companies and wrote out all of the pricing details

Re: Shuttle Buses

This is the original post from Jeng:

Here is the info I accumulated last week....

Classic Transportation 631-701-2082
Vans (11 person) $90 per trip or $180 RT
Motorcoach (55 people) $800 +Grat
Trolley (28 people) $800 + Grat

Coach USA 1-800-877-1888
Motorcoach (49 people) $595 +Grat

Peter Pan Buses 1-800-237-8747x1205
$495 for 8 hrs. (they are in NYC, so the drive time from the city counts)

County Coach (I don't have the number written down)
Motorcoach (47 Passenger) $675 +Grat

I didn't call but I remember reading that Laidlaw will rent their buses, which I think are school buses for a good price.

I was asking for quotes for about 6 hr time span, RT from Ronkonkoma to Babylon.

I haven't booked yet, but I'm leaning towards Coach USA. Peter Pan is a good price, but the travel distance may create problems (i.e. traffic). Also Coach USA does not charge overtime if it's less than 2 hours. I also like the idea of everyone riding together rather than in separte vans/buses.
A friend of mine just got married in the Finger Lakes and charter a motorcoach bus, and it was a lot of fun. The Bride and Groom road back on the bus too.

Let me know if you have any questions.
