Hi brides! I am starting to look into blocking some hotel blocks, preferably at a hotel that can provide some shuttle service to and from Sand Castle. So far I have heard about the Viana Hotel and Spa. Anyone have any experience with blocking hotel blocks and/or shuttle service? Has anyone stayed here? Thanks!
Ugh I have to do this!! The only thing is there are like ZERO hotels near our RH...They told us the Viana as well but its 10 miles away!
I am getting married at the Sand Castle and will probably be using Viana Hotel and Spa for the room block also. A representative from Viana told me if you have at least 8 rooms reserved then they give those guests free shuttle service back and forth to the RH.

Really?!?! Now I have to get in touch with them...thats a fantastic deal! LOL I was worried about how much I'd have to pay to transport people back and forth!
Hyatt at Garden City provides a Shuttle. I don't know how close that is to your RH but Hyatt and Viana Spa are the two hotels that are RH Westbury Manor suggested. The Hyatt is a nice hotel and that is where we blocked! Good luck!

we blocked at the Viana Hotel! They are awesome and include shuttle service through Camelot Limos for the wedding guests. They included mine for free too since we are getting married at the Milleridge and it's about .5 miles away... But if they do charge you, they just add a couple of dollars onto the room block off rate for the guests, so you don't have to pay for the shuttle :)
Oh, and they keep the bar open until 2am every weekend, and until 4am on holiday weekends... I believe you have to pay to 100% guarantee that the bar stays open later than 2am, but they don't suggest paying, because if the bar is crowded, the bartender will most likely stay later

I believe they said Camelot does the transportation. They also said they will keep their bar open later for an after party. I think I will be too tired to party anymore after the wedding.
Really? That's weird. I saw them at the Sand Castle showcase and that is what they told me. I wonder if they only do it for certain RH's.

They only provide it free for certain venues- mine wasn't one of them either. When I went I thought they were trying to jip me because I had seen so many girls on here get it for free but then they explained that it's only offered for specific venues.

Yes....two and neither include shuttles...it's annoying,....who'd think this was the hardest part of planning?
Im a sand castle bride - I blocked off at the Hilton Garden Inn in Westbury for July 4th week. They are only 1 of 2 hotels in the area that have a pool. I booked with cruise control limos. They are sending the limos to pick up the guests and then i have the cable car bus at the end to return to the hotel. Pretty resonable pricing. Also, The price per room is much cheaper than $199 AND the hotel is newly renovated. They are great there!
I booked at the Viana! I think they only do the shuttle for certain venues. They told me they prefer to use Camelot.
I booked at the Holiday Inn Express in Lynbrook. I am getting married at the Sand Castle Thanksgiving Eve so the Viana was booked way in advance. The Holiday Inn Express is very nice and they are very accommodating. They do not have a bar though for after party and do not offer a shuttle service. But if needed I guess guests can use a taxi or I could rent a limo for a couple hours to go back and forth. But first I need to see if people will even book the rooms I blocked.
