We rented a shuttle through our hotel to take guests to & from the wedding. The cost is $300 which I thought was totally reasonable.
We decided against having limos because we are getting married at the RH and will be going there early for pictures so no one will see what we arrive in.
I emailed the hotel to see about having them take one trip in the shuttle to the RH 3 hours before the wedding with just the bridal party so that we can take pictures in advance and they want an additional $175!!!
Is it me or is that ridiculous?!?! It is still much cheaper than having a limo for all those hours but it seems insane. unfortunately i dont think we have a choice

I think thats pretty rediculous! Is the hotel far from the hall?? What hotel are you using?

hey date twin!!! we are staying at the hilton and arent traveling far at all! (5 miles) The way they justify it is that they need to keep the shuttle driver on staff for 3 additional hours even though he isnt going to be driving. But lets be real...they are not paying their driver anywhere near $60 an hour

is still a lot cheaper than renting a limo, but thats ridiculous! carpool, everyone has to get there somehow, so have everyone gather up and go together. i'm sure someone would be willing to make the trip a few times to accomodate everyone if need be, especially if its not that far

the problem is that the bridal party is coming in the manhattan and coming via LIRR since they dont have cars! Only one BM has a car and I am sure she will be willing to drive but it would mean quite a few trips (to hold 16 people) and then before the ceremony she would have to drive back to the hotel and get on the shuttle back to the RH so that she can drink and enjoy the wedding

Well, I agree that it is a bit much for 5 miles. Maybe you should consider pricing it out through a limo company? I am sure it is less... but it might make you feel better!

I was quoted 150 for a single trip of a limo from the hotel to the RH.

they wont let u negotiate at all? at first my hotel said the shuttle would be available til 12, then when i said 'well my wedding ends at 1 they extended it-no questions and free of charge-- til 130--- i feel like they should do the same for an hour or 2 before the wedding, no??? ugh frustratingggg
