One of my friends asked if we planned on getting a shuttle to drive people from the hall to the hotel after the reception. We are not using the hotel that Giorgio's offers because the reception ends at 5:30 and most of our guests are going back to either my parent's house or FIL's house. Do you think this is necessary? It would really only benefit my college roomates (about 24 with guests).

It is necessary? No. How many guests are staying at the hotel? 24 does sound like a lot, and if you have more, you may want to consider this. Some hotels can provide one for you (at an extra charge), or you can even ask your limo company.
Personally speaking, FH and I always get a room (b/c we're drunks) so it's nice to have the shuttle to get us there and back so no one has to drive.
