For those of you using shuttles from the hotel to the ceremony/reception and back, what range are you paying?
I have seen between $300 and $500. The $500 option is from the hotel I want to use. It provides the shuttle two hours before and two hours after with as many trips as needed. Is that too much?
Is it recommended to use an independent shuttle service and not the hotels' shuttles? If so, what do you recommend?

many hotels offer free shuttle service to and from the reception hall..u should prob look into that...def save money!

Some hotels provide free shuttle if there are more than 10 rooms booked.. some may require more.. speak w/ your hotel and ask them to throw in stuff.. your OOT guests are generating income for them..

We plan on using our limo company for shuttles. We haven't gotten prices yet, but we know they're reliable and will have no problem negotiating the price!

We are staying at the Marriott in Farmingdale and they are offering our guests a free shuttle as long as they stay at their hotel!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!

Wow, thanks everyone. For those who didn't already mention the hotel can you tell me what other hotels you looked at that offered a free shuttle? All the ones that I looked at charged for the shuttle

I was told at one hotel that there was free shuttle service but that the bus was so small that many trips would have to be made and that an independent (larger) shuttle was recoomended. This is something that bides need to ask about
I can't remember if I was told that it was $450 or $550 for my own shuttle.

I blocked rooms at two hotels. The nicer one, Homewood Suites, doesnt offer a free shuttle. Then I blocked rooms at the Executive Inn, which offers a free shuttle for our wedding to and from, and to and from the train station, as well as free breakfast. Its not as nice, but it has what some of my college friends want, so they dont care!

How would you feel about a clean, airconditioned school bus??!!!! DH and I did that (but we are both teachers and made cute little 'bus passes' with all of the info). They made two trips to the reception and two trips back at the end of the night. It was $165!!! They were through Huntington Coach!

Check coachman. They seem to have many different shuttle styles...After many discussions....We are getting a 56 passenger bus that is in our full control for 4 hours before the wedding and three hours after...So we have plenty of room to bring people to the hotel and parents houses before and after....
My FH and I and bridal party will aslo be on the bus. 1200 for 6 hours...

Holiday Inn Express in Happauge has a free shuttle if you block off 10 rooms or more.

Depends on the type of shuttle you want... If you are looking for 14 passenger van- many hotels will include them (and some will if you book a certain # of rooms). For me, I need a 55-passenger coach bus (8 hours for shuttle from hotel to RH & home from RH)- so I called many companies that offer this. Budget- around $1,000-$1,500 for this. Reputable companies: Altert, Coach Classic, Coach USA.
