is anyone's parents 'stronly suggesting' (in other words) making you invite your brother's/sister's friends. My dad insisted one of my bros invlite 2 of his friends... and then suggests my younger bro invite 2 friends too... this gets me sooooooooooo mad... especially since our guest list is too big in my opinion... it's so funny how everyone else has so much say in 'your' wedding... thanks for listening...

Re: siblings friend's invited to wedding?
well my best friend and i (3 of us best friends) was invited to my best friends sisters wedding so it is not uncommon...
if you are paying then i would open my mouth! if they are paying then i dont see why it would be a problem more people to share with and more presents

Re: siblings friend's invited to wedding?
Nobody told me to invite them, but I did offer my brother the opportunity to invite some of his friends if he wanted, I know and like them all, so I wouldn't have minded. Also, I had really wanted to invite some of my deceased brothers friends to the wedding, we knew them really well, but I just felt a little awkward, now I regret not inviting them, because one of my brothers friends is getting married and we just got an invite to his wedding the other day. Now I feel terrible that I didn't invite them. If you don't want your siblings friends there, just say no. Tell your dad there are friends of yours you didn't get to invite and you don't think its fair to invite your brothers friends and not your own!! Or just be honest and tell your dad that they are not your friends and the guest list is big enough and there is no room for extras!!

OMG Do you live my life? When FH and I got engaged his sister said she was going to invite some of her friends to OUR wedding. My parents are paying for the whole wedding and I told FH that its not right. I have a brother and sister and they are not inviting any of their friends. Fh agreed with me. Well we just sent out aour invitations a couple of weeks ago and guess what??? Fh's sister invited 10, that's right.. 10 of her friends. She told FH that it's good to have young people at the wedding. Hello.. I have friends and so does FH. Some nerve.

Re: siblings friend's invited to wedding?
We're inviting a few of my FBIL's friends and a few of my sisters friends. I don't really mind though, because I know that they'd both be happier having their friends there. I think its only like 5 or 6 people total so its not that big of a deal to us!

Re: siblings friend's invited to wedding?
I am inviting my sisters best friend. She like LIVED in my house growing up. Same with my brothers best friend now, but he is also a neighbor. But I invited them because I wanted to, not because my mom told me to.

Re: siblings friend's invited to wedding?
i have 3 bros and 2 sisters-they all get to invite a friend or two. if they are happy, then i am happy. i think in moderation, it is a nice gesture and will only enhance the party.

Re: siblings friend's invited to wedding?
Nobody is making me but I might invite 2-3 of my sisters friends depending on our final list... its a few that I actually like though- and there aren't many!

i am inviting a good friend of my brothers. i think it is nice especially if it is someone you see all the time.

Re: siblings friend's invited to wedding?
i think it depends on the number of friends, and your relationship with them. if it's a friend or two that have been a major part of your siblings life, then i think they should be invited - unless the budget is really tight.
I don't think it should be forced upon you though... just knowing the way i am, i would not want to invite them if i feel like i was being forced.

I am sooo with you. My parents are contributing a small amount(granted I took half of my 'wedding money'to buy a condo when I thought I would never get married ) and my mom keeps saying if people decline, we'll just invite more. My sis also wants to invite her six closest friends! With dates, thats 12 people!!!!
