Sick of people......

Is it just me or are people ((including family)) so rude? I've been to so many weddings for my family and friends and i'm really sick of the fact that now that it's FINALLY my turn, everyone has to either play it down or compete with me!

I was recently MOH for my cousin's wedding, did everything under the sun for her and now she gets pregnant and is having her baby shower the weekend BEFORE my bridal shower. She JUST got married, we threw her a beautiful shower, over the top bachie party and she can't even call me to see how the wedding plans are going.

My other cousin just recently snapped at me, 'if we could just stop talking about your wedding for 2 MINUTES!!' and all we had mentioned was one minor detail about the wedding. I was so hurt, they had their time, what is the problem??

It's like every time my wedding is brought up someone needs to 'top me' with their plans for a 10 year renewal of vows that isn't happening for another 2 years or their kids Communion is coming up or blah blah. I'm just sick of it.

Sorry to rant and rave but i'm just annoyed at people and how insensitive they can be. Oh and did I mention how everyone feels they should have a say in my wedding and how 'I SHOULD BE' doing things?? I'm glad this is community party and not MY WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!

Grr. I'm mad today. hahaha but that made me feel better to get it out. Thanks for the ear!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I totally hear you. B/c I'm older, every single person involved in my wedding is married and has children so no one can really do anything with me b/c they are busy with their kids (not jealous of the kids at all, in fact I love them all) just the point that when it was their weddings I was THERE ALL THE TIME going to look at places, picking things up, printing envelopes, whatever, and now it's my turn and I feel guilty mentioning it b/c I don't want to seem obsessive or self absorbed. Sad that we can't just enjoy it. I had posted yesterday also, that if I hear one more time 'oh I got married there - let me find my pictures and I had this or that' HELLOOOOO it was in the 70's. Or 'did you call the vendor I used' Ummmm no I didnt' because he's dead b/c it was so long ago'

aww hon. Sorry People are so sucky, unfortunately misery loves company & they are trying to bring you down. Don't let them get you down. The best revenge is happiness & I personally plan on being hated by all those haters!.. hahha. Just kidding. No seriously I understand how frustrating it it to not have support & happiness surrounding you. I noticed it is the pessimists that have the most to say.

aww thanks, you girls are so sweet! I am not a self-absorbed person at all but just for once i'd like to enjoy my happy time and people really s-u-c-k.

I, also, am one of the oldest in the fam to get married and I know exactly what you're saying. I don't expect everyone to bow down to me and reschedule their lives just to accomodate me but a little excitement would be nice.


But you girls are the best!

Dont let it get to you although it might be hard some times. Sometimes if people are miserable in their own lives or have nothing to look forward to they try and bring you down too. Just stay happy and focused that this is the best time of your life. Cheer up and dont let it get to you.

I completly understand where your coming from I'm in the same boat with my MOH which is my sister! She hasn't really offered to help with anything she helped with my shower but other than that has not asked if I needed help with anything else. I understand she has 4 kids (which are all in my wedding) but I have to go to her for everything its so frustrating!!! Some people just don't undertsand that sometimes its not about them for once its about someone else, you!!! Don't let them get to you before you know it it will be your day and you will enjoy yourself!!!

that is so upsetting that you actually have people telling you can we not talk about your wedding for at least two minutes- I think it is a very happy & special moment in our lives and no one has the right to take that away from us- blab all you want about your wedding

also I know this is mentioned before but occassions like this either bring out the best of people or in your case the worse

Im so sorry!! I think people sometimes forget that planning a wedding isnt all fun and frills...the bride gets stressed!!! And there is realy stress, that doesnt make a you a bridezilla...theres a lot of pain and tears and sleepless nights that brides endurel...and in a perfect world everyone would just back off and say the right thing or do the right thing....

But ofcourse that cant happen. Im sorry your cousin snapped at you...whenshe gets married..shell be talking aboout her wedding alot...weddings are so exciting!!!

As for your friend with the baby shower....my BEST friend and BM who is giving birth in march/early april...is having her shower THE DAY AFTER MY WEDDING...and shes MAD that me and mom cant go!!!! I was like whaaaaaa!!!

Its times like that that make me really value the site, bc I know im not the only one and im not overreacting...lots of other brides feel the same way or are going through it too...

People dont get it sometimes or just dont want to get it. Stress gets the best of us sometimes and everyone is entitled to freaking out once in a while.

I read this and had to say the last part made me laugh out loud...someone did say this to me too...I remember thinking you were there in the 80's...who cares??? People can be so annoying!!
