Am i the only one that hates 'em? i can't wait till people finally get tired of them (which doesn't look like anytime soon). I mean Fear Factor isn't even about facing fears. I mean whos fear ISN'T eating slugs? It's ridiculous!! JMHO!

NO i dont really like them either!! I HATE survivor, and fear factor, the only reality show i watch when i can catch a rerun is the osbornes.. and frankly lately i cant understand a bleepin word the ozzy says..!! LOL

The ones i'm really offended by are the ones like joe Millionare, and bachelor/bachelorette... they totally cheapen personal relationships and the sanctity of marriage! I mean, who of those girls ISN'T in it for the money... and to be on TV! I'm usually not so conservative, but it disgusts me! I want to see the girls get utterly humiliated when they find out 'Joe Millionare' is poor!!! Serves them all right!

I don't really like them either, except, I got myself totally ADDICTED to American Idol, I think I'm really addicted to Simon though, ssshhhh....

Thats why you have to 'just say no'!!! Those shows ARE addicting. Thats why i try not to watch,or i know i won't be able to stop. I was addicted to 'Real World' for years. Think i finally stopped after New Orleans. (FH wouldn't let me watch it lol)
My FMIL made me watch American Idol the first few nights, which i actually enjoyed cuz i like seeing bad singers. LOL
Its just enough already. every week they're coming out with new ones.

Tracy-you couldnt' be more right when you say it cheapens relationships and destroys the sanctity of marriage---I admit thought I am addicted to the bachelor/bachelorette - i guess its the curiousity factor-i totally agree with you though-some of those shows are out of control--

yeah, I know what you mean. it is hard not to get addicted. I stopped the Real World after Boston. But the worst one I was addicted to was...Temptation Island. I never wanted to watch Joe Millionaire but I got ****ed in by my sister. Thank goodness it is almost over.

I was reading an article in the paper yesterday that the networks will keep producing them as long as there are viewers (obviously ) but went on to say that one of the reasons they are so poplular is because each program has a short run. Most of the shows start and ends in a few weeks and they run on a steady basis without re-runs.
And they must be cheap to create so they make money which offsets other higher cost programming like friends.
