siezure meds

I am on phenobarbitol and was wondering if anyone else on the boards was? What advice did you dr. give you about TTC??

I am on tegretol and in the middle of changing over to topamax. I am currently seeing Dr. Andriola at Stony Brook Hospital. She is a great Nuerologisy and I highly reccommend her.

Thank you for the recommendation. I actually have to switch nuerologists because of insurance, but im going to someone my MIL knows. I was also recommended to see Dr. Orin Divinsky at NYU so we will see.

my sis is on Topamax and its been great for her. One side effect is she lost ALOT of weight but other than that she's doing really well...knock wood!

I took Topomax for my migraines. I was told you can't take it while TTC or preggo. So I would ask your doctor.

My dr. is changing my meds from tegretol to topamax so we can TTC and the doctors are well aware of this.

I would agree about checking with your doctor first. Having epilepsy, you should have more causion with health decisions.
