sigh...worst timing

SO I drive a PRETTY SWEET 96 ford taurus- girls girls...don't be jealous.

its one of those 'how much more money are we going to put into this car' type of things. NOW- finances are already REALLY tight- wedding, bills, mortgage, general survival, my love affair with dunkin donuts...and WELL my car, lets call her Wanda- pretty much said 'no thank you.' Wanda is currently still parked at work doubtlessly wondering why I have left her alone. sounds of metal CLANKING against metal??? yeah...NOT GOOD. I know a little bit about cars and I can pretty much tell that this is it for this one.

who has the money for these things? I think i have to get another job....

any ideas/suggestions (or any cars anyone wants to give me...lol)? I didn't want to have to do that, but I don't think I have a choice...

Oh no My very rockin' 1999 Mercury Sable had her brake line snap on the way home from my coworker's wedding.

I don't drive a lot, so it made sense to pay cash and put the non-taxed money into my car. It is a city car and I don't expect great things from her.

What is your mileage? Mine was fairly low, so I went with the repairs (75,000)

FH use to drive a taurus...it was tan and he called it the clitoris (i know..he is gross...yet very funny at the same time)

poor Wanda..it sounds like she had a good long life.

Check out VW. I have a 2010 Jetta and love it. I got a really good lease deal too. You can lease the base model for something like $150 a month I think.

I know how you feel. My car is on it's way out and I don;t think it will make it through the winter. I am dreading having to buy a car becasue there simply isn't any money for one.

There seems to be quite a few of brides in the same boat! Our 99 Altima ('Jezebel') is about ready for last rites. Since we don't use it during the week, we are hoping to make her last another year. But we shall see if Mother Nature and Jezebel will play nice this winter
