The FH vetoed the DIY calla centerpiece...he thinks we'll be too rushed the morning of to take care of that.
So back to the drawing board for cheap centerpieces. I found this candelabra on ebay for about $18...i was thinking of placing two on each table with some votives on the table. They're about 10 inches by 18 inches tall.
It's hard to see in the pic...but the round glass part are tea light holders surrounded by crystal beads...and since my colors are mainly black and white, the black may work to our advantage.
(FH is willing to do this type of DIY ... just not floral DIY. I guess there's less risk involved with lighting a bunch of candles.)
ooh i like that!! It's so elegant looking!!! Very pretty!!!!

Jen...I can't believe HOW many great cheap DIY CP Idea's you have. They are ALL great!!!!! I think the candlabra's will be beautiful on the table...I'm not even sure you will need 2 on a table...I would think one would suffice.

They're beautiful! But I agree - I think 1 per table will be plenty!

Great idea! You could also but that on top of a mirror with votives on the mirror and possibly some flower petals! I love it though, very romantic!

maybe just one in the center of the table with clear votives holders areound the base and then you can find black votives

Really? I'm using those really long oval tables...the ones that fit 14? (6 seats on each side)....these are only 10 inches wide...will that be enough?

If you are using long oval tables I think 2 might be necessary.
Have you thought about other flowers that are cheap? I am pretty sure I am going with gladiolas in a tall trumpet vase. You can buy a bunch of them (I would do 10-12 stems per vase) the day before and then just stick them in vases the morning of -- they hardly need any arranging because they are so tall and pretty as is. They come in a million colors, too. If you nwanted to, you could add bear grass, which is the wispy green things in this pic:
yeah...we ddi think about DIY our own flowers....but we're having a noon time wedding...so we'll have to wake up at 4AM just to get hair and makeup and pictures done before the ceremony....FH thinks it'll be too much of a hassle.
THanks for the suggestion though....gladiolas are beautiful!
