'Sign-In' Board - In place of a guestbook?

'Sign-In' Board - In place of a guestbook?

We are having our engagement pic blown up into a sign-in board - I don't really know much about these....do a lot of people do them? Does it take the place of a guestbook?

For anyone that did the sign-in board, did you like the way it turned ou? Do you still have it and do you display it in your home somehow?

We used one and and we loved it. We did not have a guestbook. We bought ours at Pottery Barn and it is so pretty. I still have it and we have it hanging in our spare room. Go for it.

I'm actually doing both - the guest book has more information in it and the sign in board is a quick signature or note.

I bought my frame from Michael's and with the 40% off coupon, it was $20 - I bought a huge piece of matting and FH cut a piece out for the frame and also for our card box - $13 for the 3'x4' piece of matting and it looks great.

The sign in board does take the place of a guest book. I also purchased mine from pottery barn in black. It matches my living room decor and I plan to hang it above the entertainment center. Here's a pic

maybe I will just take my engagement pic and use it in the pottery barn frame, but the sign-in board i am talking about is a HUGE black and white pic blown up, so guests are actually signing on the pic - Duet brides will know what I am talking about....

I think it may be a little 'too' large, you know? I really like the framed pics, so maybe I will do that instead.

Thanks!

I was thinking the same thing, only after the wedding I planned to replace the epic with a wedding pic. But that's exactly why I opted not to use the posterboard that duet has.

I think the PB one is big enough for 200 people - if you have an attendant he/she should ask them to keep it small. That frame is HUGE!

We are getting the DUET Blow up thing, just cause it is included in the package, and hanging it at the reception. The actual signing will happen on the PB Frame.

cool -this is really helpful! I never thought about just displaying the duet board and NOT having people sign it (duh)! I like the idea of displaying it and using the PB frame for the actual signing.

Thanks!

I think I am doing one since it's part of my package, but I am also doing a polaroid guest book.

Oh yeah - I was also thinking about asking Duet for a smaller one. If they can't do it, I may skip it!

I had a GIANT picture of me as a baby at my sweet 16. I still have mine too

I am a Duet bride and did not want to do it. I like the big picture but no signing.

My cuz used it at her wedding in place of a guest list. It seemed to work nicely. One warning, if you have a rowdy crowd you could end up with a moustache drawn on (seen it happen, sorry to say). I guess you could always replace the pic if that happened.
