Hello! I am thinking about having a porcelain platter made with our names on it for guests to sign at our engagement party - is this ok to do? Or is it too much? Do people usually have sign-in books for the e-party? We thought it made more sense to have it at the e-party rather than the wedding since the e-party will be our family and close friends only. Let me know what you think!

I did something similar for my friends eparty. I purchased a frame with a wide matting border. I put one of their engagement pictures in it and had the bridal party sign around it and gave it to her as a surprise.
I was also looking at the plate idea but the frame was much cheaper and accomplished the same thing.
I def think the frame is a cute idea. Esp the one's you can find online that can put a picture of the two of you (real or cartoon) in the middle.

i think its a really cute idea, and if your only doing this for the eparty and not the wedding than i dont think its much at all, and prob makes more sense since your closer family and friends will be there who will prob do more than just sign there name! good idea i would def do that!

I didn't have one for the engagement party but I did have one for my bridal shower. I went to a paint-your-own-pottery place in NYC and got a cookie jar. I had them paint an umbrella on it and write pa56's Bridal Shower. Then all my guests signed it and it's now sitting on our kitchen counter. I love it!
Since I didn't have bridesmaids, my mom planned my shower. She was a little overwhelmed by the whole thing so I helped her out.

I had one and i am so happy that i did! Since it was really close family and friends everyone signed it and it was actually a big hit! I highly recommend it!

Sorry to bump this ladies, but I want to order this today - we are going to have our names on the top edge - but what date should be on the bottom? The date of our e-party or the wedding date? It will be used to sign in at our e-party . . . advice is appreciated!!
