Silk centerpeices???

Hey Ladies. So, I am conflicted over what to do about my centerpieces. My step mother has offered to make me silk centerpieces at no cost, Sooooo sweet of her. Of course, I would prefer real flowers but she assures me you wont be able to tell the difference. I am planning on using a very tall vase similar to the one pictured, and still using fresh for my brides/bridesmaid bouquets . this would literally save us a ton of money. What's your opinion?

Our friends were married at Sandcastle and these were the CPs provided by the venue:

These are not real but you could have fooled me. If it's going to save you a ton of money I say go for it!

I say go for it. But all my flowers were silk because DH and I are allergic. The nice thing about silk is that you can keep them forever. If she will make them for you and you are saving a ton of money I see nothing wrong with it.

how much cheaper are silk flowers? and how real do they look??

I was thinking about doing silk for the bouquets and church arrangement, but doing fresh for the centerpieces.

i thought that might be more discreet, since nobody will really be able to touch those pieces except for the bridal party.

Look in my album under wedding pics- you can see my boquet. BTW- my florist was the same ones who did the ceremony flowers at TWOTY
