SILK FLOWERS?

DId anyone use silk flowers?

I am really on a super tight budget and seeing alot of nice silk bouquets...... And flowers honestly are the least of my concern as far as everything else......

DId anyone else go this route? If so, can I see some pics?

Thanks ladies!

Re: SILK FLOWERS?

I love flowers, but to spend all that money so that they can die the next day? It's kind of a waste of money. I am probably going to do candles instead. I am planning on buying a hurricane vase/candle holder, a tall pillar candles, rose petals to go inside and outside of the vase, and probably some votive candles to go around the table. I tried it out at Michaels the other day and it looked beautiful. Here is a breakdown of what everything would cost:

Vase- 9.99 (if you use Michaels coupon it would be a lot less.)
Candle- 3.99
Petals- 4.99
Votive holders- .50
Candles for votives- 1.00

It would be between 15 and 20 dollars a table. Here is just an example of something similar. I wouldn't use the mirror, though.

I totally understand the budgetary concerns. I was thinking of using silk flowers as well, or a lot of candles. I ended up finding these incredible vases from Bed Bath and Beyond.....they were $20 for a pair of 3 and they accept expired coupons so I got each for $15.....I am having my florist add in large floating candles and silk leaves in each vase and then placing rose petals, real leaves and a vine with red and orange berries to it. She is charging $20 per table for that......but you could easily get away with doing less. I have a picture of the vases with the silk leaves and candles in my album....it won't let me post them for some reason. My mother and I put them together.

Good luck....there is so much you can do with silk

That's awesome!! I love the height on that. I will have to look and see what I find. I think both candle displays look gorgeous!

Thanks....I think they look so different and they are elegant.....because the stems are thin, it is easy for the guests to see one another at the table.....you can easily make that work with some silk rose petals and floating candles.....I think you can buy them in bulk.....make sure they are at least 3 inches though.....I would recommend 3.5 so they burn all night.

This is beautiful! It would look so pretty for a summer or spring wedding!

Silk flowers can look very pretty on the web or in photos but in person may not be as impressive.

I like the idea of candle or fruit CPs.
