Silk or Real Touch Flowers for BoK?

Is anybody planning on doing the silk or real touch flowers for bouquets, and bouts? Any recommendations as far as vendors or websites, or stores?

I came across kedra5's post about the silk flowers, and it got me thinking. I was going back and forth with the idea because I wanted to be able to keep my bouquet and display it in a vase after our wedding. No need for me to spend so much money on flowers that will die within a few days. JMO. So I went on etsy and checked out several vendors and received a quote.

1 Bride Bouquet
2 MOH bouquets
3 BM bouquets
1 JR BM Bouquet
1 toss away
5 bouts
1 father bout
1 mother corsage

all wrapped in black & white damask fabric with teal ribbon, and pearl pins throughout.

$668.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe that's how much she was going to charge me!!!!!!! FH was not a happy camper when he saw that price.

So yeah, I'm not sure how great of a price that is. Flowers are the last thing I'm concerned about for my wedding, and i'm not doing flower centerpieces, so the bok's and bouts would be the only flowers displayed.

Any ideas? The Michaels by me doesn't carry such a good selection of silk flowers, but I am interested to hear other locations if anyone knows of any.

here's a picture of what the BOK's from etsy look like

that's actually not a bad deal. Considering most real flower bridal boqs are between $150-$275 by itself.

I am doing real flowers, I honestly can tell the difference.

My friend had them for her wedding and I didn't like them at all.

That being said, I know you can get silk really cheap from the commack wedding center. They have a whole room display of them.

something to remember is that they are white/off white so overtime they will fade and change color. worse yet, DUST! i say get real flowers. you need not go crazy! consider diying the ribbon around it. and if youre crafty supermarket sell TONS of flowers super cheap. so think about it!

I personally wouldn't do silk. I am not fond of the way they look. Even though real don't last long they look beautiful and the options you have with what flowers to get. B U R T O N S has great prices flowers and if you aren't doing CP's then it shouldn't be too much at all. Also you can always dry out the flowers and save them. I

My advice would be to get a quote on the same thing only real, and if you don't really care about flowers what are you worried about with real flowers? If it was like 100$ for all that I would say yes but that seems like a lot for fake flowers!

It's not that I don't care about flowers, it's that I want to keep my bouquet after my wedding. I just can't see spending $700+++ on things that will wilt and die- just to have good looking pictures. To each is own i guess in this situation.

I did find an esty dealer who will create the same look as the picture above for $200 less, so I'm probably going to stick with her.

thanks for all your help girls.

Yeah I tried to recreate the BoK's that I sent in the other thread hahaa, i was close but didn't have enough flowers. I was going to tell you that if you kept looking you could prob find them cheaper on etsy but it seems like you already did
