silly ??? about names...

silly ??? about names...

OK this is most likely a dumb question but I need to know what you ladies think because I want to start ordering stuff.
As far as names go for 'things for the wedding', I have 2 questions, my name is Alex and NO ONE calls me my full name Alexandra, and FH is Mike and NO ONE calls him Michael, is it OK to put 'Alex & Mike' on everything , including invites?
That brings up my 2nd question, which name comes first, bride or groom? Like on napkins, matches, card box, etc.

I have a similar thing... My FH is Andrew but everyone calls him Andy (well except my sister but it is a funny joke between the two of them).

What I did was use Andy on our monogram, and Channa Plaque, but I am using Andrew for the wedding invitations since it is more formal.

You are suppose to put the girls's name first on things!

Thanks Mara! I think we're going to stick with 'Alex & Mike' for everything because that's what everyone knows us as!
It's just a little annoying sometimes because people think and tell me I have a 'boys name' like really? keep that comment to yourself thanks!

I put his name before mine on our eng invites.. he was so mad ..i like the way it sounds better then

I am Kerrianne and no one calls me that except my grandparents. I wrote Kerrianne only on the invitations.

Everything else I wrote Kerri & Paul

From what I've heard, with regards to the wedding day the bride's name always goes first. After the wedding day it is always Mr & Mrs Joe Smith.

So us ladies only get 1 day !!!

people are rude. My FH's name is WeiMo but I think I'm gonna use Mo on everything because that's what we call him and he doesn't like being called WeiMo.

yes definitely go for what you want....sometimes the whole name is not necessarily what we are called....my situation is crazy...FH name is Jorge but his middle name is Ricardo....for some reason his whole family calls him ricardo (by his middle name) but outsiders call him his first name (Jorge)......i think we are going with Jorge though LOL i love you guys only WE understand how something so simple is really not!!! LOL

We did my name first on everything b/c thats how everyone refers to us! LOL. I think its totally fine to use the names you actually go by!

I say use whatever you are more comfortable with!

My name is Kathleen and everyone calls me Kat. So far I've only bought matchbooks and put Kat and Louis. For the invites though I'll use my full name.

the brides name always goes first on invitations and what not. Also my FH 's name is Kenneth but no one calls him that but to be formal and traditonal I put Kenneth. If you girls and your FH's have middle names you should put them as well. It is more formal and traditional that way.

We're everything BUT traditional so I don't think we're doing middle names on the invites, well FH doesn't have a middle name anyways haha

In my opinion the brides name should always come first, invites, STD, napkins...I would go for the full names but if your more comfortable with the nick names then go for it.

My issue is that everyone calls me Kat not my full name Katherina and I want my full name but my fiance's name is actually just Chris, not Christopher, not Christian...Just Chris...im concerned our names together might look silly since my name is 3x the length of his, lol!!
