This may sound like a really dumb question, but how do we invite our vendors to the wedding? Do they get an invite, or do we just include them in the head count to the reception hall? Specifically, photographer, DJ, officiant. As much as I love John from Flower Michele, the florist is usually not included in on the 'vendor table.'

Re: Silly Invite Question
It was my understanding you include the photographer the dj into the head count not the florist ..... only those vendors that will be actually at the reception working.

Re: Silly Invite Question
Yeah you include them in the head count and dont send an invite. I am pretty sure they will be there!!
The florist is usually gone by the time the party starts right? That is why they arent included.

Re: Silly Invite Question
You add them to the head count, but you don't send them an invitation. Altho we're asking our officiant to stay for the reception, so he'll be the only 'vendor' that gets an invitation.
Usually it's just the DJ/MC and the photographer(s). The florist isn't there for the reception so they don't get added to the head count or receive an invitation. The DJ/MC and the photographer(s) aren't guests, they'll know when/where bc it's stated on your contract.

Re: Silly Invite Question
So the DJ and photographer are in the headcount...does that mean we pay full price for them as if they were a guest?

A lot of places charge half prive for vendors, but it depends on what your contract says.

Re: Silly Invite Question
I think you only include them in yur head count if you haven't met the minimum. Most places don't charge you full price for the vendor meal because it is just that- a meal, no service or alcoholic drinks go to them. So you give the reception place a seperate head count for vendors. My place charges $35 for vendor meals

Re: Silly Invite Question
they just come, they don't need an invitation. then you tell the hall how many vendors you are going to have there.

Re: Silly Invite Question
I would not include them in the headcount - that is for full price guests. Let you hall know how many vendors they will need to feed.
If you are inviting the officiant, I would say he/she does NOT count as a vendor, but as a full price guest.

Re: Silly Invite Question
The only 'vendor' that might get an actual invite is the officiant. In my case I am sending him & his wife an invite. The other vendors, are just that - vendors. The headcount to the reception hall consists of the invited guests that responded to the RSVP with a yes. Give them a separate headcount for vendor meals (usually a reduced cost). In my case I have two photographers, videographer, DOC & assistant, DJ & assistant, and someone else that I am forgetting, because I know my vendor meal count is 10.
