OK....so you go to Town Hall, you get your marriage license.
what do you do with it?
give it to the person who is marrying you??
then what happens?
i hear people get something in the mail?
can someone explain the procedure please.

Yes, you give it to the person who is officiating. The maid of honor and best man (or any other two witnesses) sign it when you get married and you and your husband as well. Then it gets mailed and about 2 weeks later you get the registration in the mail. You use the registration to change your name (ss card, license, etc.).

I have a related question.........my wedding date is wrong on my licence. They have it down as the 9th when we were married on the 10th. Is this a huge problem??????????
