Silly monogram question

Ok--what exactly do you use them for? I see that some girls used them on programs or favors. Do you have someone make one and then get different sizes of it to use on different things? I am sorry if this is a ridiculous question

How do you get it made into different sizes? Do you just print it from the computer?
