If you have votive candles as place cards, and light them before the guests pick them up- does the glass get hot? Also, are the guests supposed to blow them out- or put them on the tables while lit?

Re: silly question
first thing is dont have them lit until about 5 mins before the end of the concktail hour. Second, if you put a little bit of water in the votice candle holder and then the candle, it doesnt get as hot.

I heard that it is better to use a tealight and remove the metal bottom. This will prevent the candle from getting so hot and you won't have to worry about when they are going to light them.
