Is pool chlorine safe for diamonds? Reason I ask is I am still debating whether to take my rings on HM and I don't want to leave in the room safe. They will be on me the entire time, even while swimming... Also does anyone else have an emerald stone and find it annoying to keep the under neath clean since it's basically a see through diamond???

Re: Silly question
that's a good question. I always take my e-ring off when I go swimming, but I see why you wouldn't want to take it off during your HM. I think that the diamond should be ok in chlorine, just make sure your rings are tight enough that they don't come off in the water

Re: Silly question
Good Question. My father is a jewerly designer I'm going to ask him & get back to you.
I have a round setting & it's SO hard to keep clean under neath. I put my ring in a small bowl of pour rubbing alcohol for a few mins. It cleans it up nicely.

Re: Silly question
I use a baby toothbrush to clean my rings. it is very soft and the bristles are small.
Good question about the chlorine.

Im not sure but i dont think chlorine would harm a diamond. especially if youre only in a pool for an hour or so....

i have a princess cut stone, and it's also hard to keep clean, but a little windex on a q-tip works wonders!!! also, have you thought about getting a fake set of rings for the HM? other girls on LIW were talking about doing that, and i am seriously considering it, because i am prone to losing things!!

Re: Silly question

Re: Silly question
I'm thinking more and more about getting a fake set for this summer, going to the beach and pool as well as taking it on the honeymoon...

Re: Silly question
I've def considered trying to find a different ring for the hm... Because mine is emerald cut, whenever I wash my hands w it on, if water gets beneath it and dries, you see the water marks.. I literally blow into my ring if I wash with it on. It's silly I know, but that is another reason why it would be a pain to wear it in the water...

Re: Silly question
I'm pretty sure it doesn't effect the diamond- it the strongest stone out there. But I will ask my FSIL who works at a jewelery store.

Re: Silly question
What I read online is that it does not damage diamond, but it can make gold weak. Now I'm sure swimming here and there won't do it... just still not sure about the real ones on the hm.
