...I know our stepfather's need to wear a tux to the wedding but are they supposed to match their attire with the bridal party? My mom thinks they should but I don't- I figure the mom's arent' supposed to wear celadon and champagne to match the girls, so I didn't think the stepdad's were supposed to match the guys. But maybe I'm wrong???

Yeah, I didn't think they were either. I'm totally confused. My mom thinks the tuxes should all match. I agree that they should wear a BLACK tux but I didn't think their button down or vest should match??
Our groomsmen have silver solid vests and ties so we put our dad's in silver vests but with that swirly pattern so they stand out a little but still match color-wise with the BP.
our dad's are not matching. we actually got them a completely different look - bow tie and wing collar, the guys are having long tie and regular collar.
They really don't have to match exactly, but they should be in a tux. We matched at both weddings.
well, i have a black and white thing going on...black and ivory actually, so everyone in the bridal party will be in black and/or black/white. Moms and BMs in black dresses, GM in black ties and vest with their tuxes (white shirts), FH will have an ivory vest and tie with a white shirt. So the dads will also be in regular tuxes so they'll match by default. But, I think the dad's and stepdads want to wear black bowties instead of regular ties. Either way, do what you want, there's no hard and fast rule for this.
Ohhhhh so they are supposed to match somewhat with the bridal party? At least coordinate with them? I would have thought they should wear a regular tux....not with same colors. I'm clueless! My mom was right! lol

I'm going to have the dad's match the mom's dresses. I think it will look nicer in pics. Like Black tux, but the vest/tie will match the mom's dresses. I'm a coordinating freak. Trying to get the moms to get dresses that compliment the BM dresses.

no they dont have to match colors at all. FH and i went last week to the tux place and i asked them about this...the lady said no the fathers can pick whatever color they want and many fathers get vests and ties to match their wives
No I dont think they have to match. I'm not having my father or FFIL match the GM.
the guy at Tuxedo Park told us they dads should match the moms or be neutral, but not match the guys
the daddys dont match the bridal party, they either go plain black & white or they match the mommys
I agree, I would have the dads match the moms or go neutral, but definitely not match the bridal party.
