Okay, I am SO in love with Lladro's The Happiest Day, however it's over $400 at Fortunoffs and Macy's (which is where I am registered). Will I look like a greedy b*tch if I put it on the registry?
I have never seen any cake toppers I liked, and want this on our cake table. Check out my avitar for what cake topper FH SERIOUSLY wants. (um, no)
Thanks!

Re: Silly question but, what would you do?
I also love LLadros and 400.00 is not that bad! Just think that if you have some friends., they may just chip in and buy it for you, but if you don't get it and you have it on your registry some places will give you a discount on all items remaining. I think you should go for it!

Put it on there. Someone wrote on a post recently that they put one for $350 and someone bought it. People will decide how much to spend. Give them the option. You may be pleasantly surprised!

Put it on...the worst that can happen is that no one buys it.

Put it on, it can't hurt. I have some really expensive things on my registry as well- I figured no one has to spend that much if they don't want, and other people can chip in together.

Definitely put it on. If no one wants to buy it for you, they won't. Maybe it'll be a BP gift or something split amongst a number of people so it's not too expensive.
Just drop lots of hints about how much you love it

DO IT!! I've been in love with that piece since I first saw it and it's the first thing that's going on my registry.

It's actually $525, but who's keeping track?
I would put it, because some people may go in together to get it for you. FSIL's mom bought it for her as her shower gift.
My mom bought it for me when I got engaged, but she goes to Canada frequently, so she got it a lot cheaper!
P.S. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't even THINK about bringing it to my wedding! I would be too scared it would break (with my luck). It's sitting pretty in my china cabinet, and I am not allowed to touch it!

Put it on. That's the kind of gift my friends and I purchase when we're part of a bridal party.

Re: Silly question but, what would you do?
When I showed my sister a few things I wanted to register for she said something like 'Oh people can afford that...' and I was thinking that I really didn't care what people could afford. A registry is simply a wish list. If one of your guests cannot afford something from your registry, they can get you something else or give you $$$.
As far as your Lladro goes, I think it is lovely. If I were to see it on a regsitry, I would think it to be something appropriate for a parent, in-law or even FH/DH to give to you. Think about it. If you have one or two extremely expensive items on your registry, it is perfectly fine. If you registered at Tiffany or Cartier, then $400 would be insignificant. Enjoy your gift when you get it. I bet you do.

Re: Silly question but, what would you do?
macys has rewards program when you register with them 5% for everything bought for your registry and 10% for stuff you buy for your wedding on your macys charge up until your shower, plus you have 90 days after your shower to purchase anything left on your registry for an additional 10% off, so i would put it on, if no one buys it, you get 10% off plus macys will send you a gift card with the rewards program that you earned. But to be eligle for the rewards points you have to give them your macys charge, when you register .

I love that one too- but bc the price went to over $500 I ended up registering for the Armani True Love (I think that's what it's called) statue- It was 380-
That is such a beautiful statue though- my favorite!
