after the wedding? We are leaving for our honeymoon early the next morning (Sunday) and we don't really have any relatives that leave near us to hold them? Did anyone else have this problem? What did you do?

As far as monetary gift, we deposited them straight into the bank the next morning. Anything else, our parents took home for us until we got back. But unless you have an account w/Commerce bank, I don't think any other bank is open on Sunday. (which is one of the reason I just switched to that bank)

What about your MOH? There is absolutely no close family between you or your FH that can just hold your stuff there during your honeymoon???
If not, I would find a very, very, very private spot in your home and hide it........ceiling? Under rug? Coffee can in a cabinet...there are so many ideas...just make sure you remember where you put it when you return? LOL
Send yourself an email and read it when you get back so you remember---LOL

We have boxes everywhere and we waited to deposit the checks until we got back (today! LOL) We were tooo busy to sign the checks

DH and I waited til the Monday after our wedding to go on our honeymoon so we could deposit all the money. We went on a 3 weeks honeymoon and didn't want to hold peoples money up.
I would leave them at your place in a good hiding spot. Or, give them to someone you really trust. There is really not too many other choices. Sorry, wish I could help!!

Deposit through ATM - it works and can be done at any time - if you do not have time - flight to early the next day - i would try to let someone you are really close hold onto them - or if you can't - don't print the announcement in the paper - it will help keep you place more secure if you are hiding the money

Tha ATM may be my only choice. We don't live in Long Island...so we won't be returning home before we leave...my BM lives in California and the MOH is trustworthy but to nutty with her kids, etc. and I wouldn't trust her not to misplace them.
Maybe one of FH friends (since they live up by us) - I just didn't feel comfortable leaving them with friends.

Or if you are that concerned as far as the monetary gifts go, why dont you see if your bank had a safe deposit box, and leave it in there till you return---its probably most safe there than anywhere else.....just a thought!

Well, we postponned our HM BUT ...we have a ton of gifts. We have half of them put away and being used..and the other half is stacked in boxes in our spare room! it's like Christmas every time we go in there!
If we were to go away now though, we would have a friend house-sit. This is not a problem at all actually, as we have a friend who practically lives with us and looks for any excuse to not be at his current home (parent's house...AKKK!)
He could house/gift/cat sit for us...especially since robbers are known to target 'newlywed' homes...knowing that they will most likely be out of town!
As far as $$ goes...we had it all in my money bag for a week! Then we finally went down to teh bank and opened our new account together.

My sster totok out a safety deposit box.
I have my engagemnt gifts in an HUGE box, overflowing in my mom's dining room. She wants to kill me, but FH's apt isn't insured yet, and um..we have reptiles and floods and it's like 'look lizard, you can have my cheerios, but stay away from the lenox!!!!!!!!!!'
