Did you just put the invitations in your mailbox? Did you bring them to the post office and put them in the big blue mailboxes? This is such a stupid question but i really dont know

Re: Silly question.....girls who mailed their invites
I went to the post office and gave them to the guy at the counter.. I was just a little nervous about the 13 ounce rule but if I knew my invites were under that I probably would have just thrown em in the box at the post office.

went to the post office it's best to go and have one weighed so you have enough postage!

Re: Silly question.....girls who mailed their invites
Any piece of mail that weighs over 13 ounces must be given to them directly... If you drop it in the mailbox or in the slot at the post office you run a risk of it getting sent back to you.. I am verry paranoid so I didn't want to risk it!!

I already did that and they needed .59 stamps on them. So I can just put them in the mailbox right?

you should go to the post office and ask them to hand stamp them. this way they won't get destroyed. the ppl at the post office will be nice make sure they know they are your wedding invitations.

Re: Silly question.....girls who mailed their invites
We brought out invites to the post office so we could measure and see how much extra postage we would need. So we mailed them that day within the post office. It was a Saturday and a lot of people got them on Monday or Tuesday.

Re: Silly question.....girls who mailed their invites
My FH works for the post office and when we have to mail them, he took it to his job and hand stamp them. It was better this way!

They are not that heavy at all but they are bulky (cost $1.34 to mail) and being that 13 ounces isn't even a lb I wasn't taking ANY chances!
