I'm a pretty tall girl (5'10ish), and FH is like 5'9. Its not really a big deal for us but I tend to not wear heels often, or at least not tall ones if we're going someplace where we'll be standing next to each other for awhile. I don't want our wedding pictures to look silly with me being taller than him, so I had full intention of wearing flats, but when I was trying on dresses my saleswoman and my mother both flipped, saying I could have a low heel but I definately could not do flats.
Do you even see shoes under a wedding dress? I have a pair of flats that fit well and never bother my feet like lots of flats with no support do. So I was thinking of just ordering a pair of shoes I already have and I know that work (I attempted to add the picture below).
For brides that have already done the day on their feet, shouldn't I go for comfort and something that makes me happy? Did anyone even know what shoes you were wearing?
My FH is about 2 inches taller than me and I considered flats for my wedding also, but I was told to get a low heel because the dress will just flow better with a low heel. Here's what I bought with a low heel...often low heels look grandma-ish.
Again, I have a couple inches to work with and not be taller than the groom, so I understand your point in wanting to wear flats. At the end of the day, it's your wedding and go with whatever makes you happy!
Eh... For me flats are too casual so i wouldnt wear em for my own wedding... I wore a 2 inch heel... coloriffics tori and they were seriously the most comfy heel ive ever worn... during the whole day i didnt even think once about taking them off... so i would suggest those to you
ETA: The front of my shoes could be seen a little bit bc of the way my hem was cut... i supposse if you had them make the dress touching the floor, they wouldnt see your shoes... If you're going to look back at your pics and hate them bc you're taller than DH, then i would suggest going with your gut and wearing the flats
