Silver plated favor question

Silver plated favor question

ive have one my sample silver plated ice cream scoop favors sitting in my room. The top half of it looks shiny still, yet the bottom side looks like its fading....

its only been one month... is there a better material that wont tarnish the same?
crome plated?

I would think anything plated is going to have that problem...it depends on what the base metal is...I think nickel and steel tend to not hold the plating for very long.
