SILVERware.. question

Are you girls registering for stainless steel for everyday and silverware for formal ware?

Question is b/c my mom suggested SILVER PLATED since the cost of real silver is thousands of dollars.. then we went to Fortunoff and Macys' and the women working there said silver plated really isn't 'in' anymore b/c there is no demand for it, they only carry a few in the stores.. now a days b/c stainless steel has come such a long way they just use that for formal ware..

what do i do??

if you get stainless, make sure it is 18/10 stainless steel!!

we ended up picking out two sets of silverware, both are the 18/10 stainless steel... one we will use with our good china and one everyday... i didnt care for the selection or price of the real stuff!!

Me too. I remember the HOURS my sister and I spent polishing Mom's silver before holiday dinners. Not fun.
