Simple, Elegant MOB Dress - Where to go?

Hi ladies!

Mom and I have been trying to find her a gown for a few weeks now without any luck. We're both starting to get nervous with the wedding less than 3 months away.

She wants something simple and elegant. Not a lot of beading (it's just not her style and everything seems to have tons of beads), not matronly or prom-like. Ideally, she would love a black strapless dress, with a drop waist and slightly full, flowy skirt.

Here's where we've been so far:
Lord & Taylor
Macy's
Saks
Bloomingdales
Nordstrom
Totally You in Bellmore
Sugarplum

(I think her max price would be somewhere around $500-600. Dresses over a $1,000 are definitely out.)

Any suggestions?

well, I was goign to suggest Totally YOU & Sugar Plum, my mom liked both stores.

I know in Sugar Plum they kind of encouraged her to try something sparklier, because she was the MOB, but they had other things they would suggest for guests.
So maybe if your mom says she DOESN'T want a MOB gown, she may have better luck.

What about looking at Bridesmaid's dresses? At RK Bridal in Manhattan, you can look on your own, which might be helpful.
