Is anyone getting a simple wedding band too, to wear when your not wearing your diamond. My mom has one that goes around her diamond and a plain gold band, well its not plain because she made it herself, but its flat and simple, and I think its so smart, because if your cleaning, doing an artsy thing or doing stuff around the house you don't want to wear your diamond ring. What do you ladies think?

I think that's a pretty great idea... The rings that FH and I are looking at have small diamond in it... we both want matching rings so I couldn't get anything TOO crazy. LOL. So I won't have to worry about getting another one...

I'm thinking of doing this too. I'd rather have something simple to wear when cleaning, etc. than wear nothing at all. Especially when we start having kiddies, I wouldn't want to scratch the babies or get my ring stuck on them or something...

Re: Simple Wedding Bands
I am getting a plain band as well. I actually have to have a plain band to get married with (as per our reform rabbi) Once I saw FH smile about that, I reminded him, this just means I get 2 wedding bands. One with diamonds and one without!!!

Re: Simple Wedding Bands
I have a similar problem, i tried on a reg wedding band with baggettes but my engagement ring is so big that it became too much with the wedding band on. but each without the other looks so nice, the lady at kays said when i have kids i may not want a big ring on may scratch them yikes..lol..she suggested the plain wedding band with baggettes and thats what i got but now im second guessing.

I didn't even think about it when I have kids. I was just thinking how I always have my hands in something creative and I didn't want to worry about my ring. I often don't wear my e-ring because of that and then when I leave the house i will forget to put it on, and then feel guilty as hell. The band I will get is probably the one that fits into my oddly shaped but gorgeous e-ring, so I will either have to wear both or nothing. Thinking about the kid factor this is sounding like a better and better idea.

I think it is a good idea. I think I may get myself a plain band to wear to work. I work in healthcare. Then I will leave my Ering and band at home. What material are you getting your plain band in? I need to get FH a plain band too. He is going to be in training for three months this spring, boot camp like thing. I don't want him to wear his expensive platnium band just in case it gets lost. He can't wear gold or silver so allergic, it turns green.

I'm just getting a plain band period, as mandated by El Cheapo. Sigh.

Re: Simple Wedding Bands
Well I really want a regular wedding band because I like the sense of tradition that goes with it, but FH really wants me to get a diamond band (Isn't it supposed to be the opposite??? Lord bless his soul lol)...but I think I'm still getting a regular band. My engagement ring is all I ever wanted so I don't feel the need to have a fancy wedding ring.

I haven't really decided because I am still thinking about the idea. I might not get the plain one right away because of money, but I think after these posts I am sold on the idea. Probably in silver or platinum. Maybe gold since my good ones are platinum.
FH always has his hands in motors and electronics (eletrical engineer) so a very simple and small band is essential for him. He is going to hate wearing it so we have to find something he hardly feels.
