I HATE every single bridesmaid dress that I set my eyes on...well...hate is a very strong word, I don't hate them but they certainly are not what I am looking for and I feel with every bone in my body that I will not find one that I want to see my girls in, and/or that they would want to see themselves in. I just want a plain, satin, v-neck dress that comes mid-calf and is brown.
That's all I ask!!! What goes on in the world that no one has thought of this design?????

Well you dont have to look at dresses that are categorized 'BRIDESMAID' dresses...Go to any store that sells evening dresses and find a dress you like and talk to them about it.

You will find it. I guess once you are on the hunt, you WILL find it!

Re: Since everyone is venting...
I hate bridesmaid dresses too...I don't want them to look like they are going to senior prom again. I am trying to find something pretty, elegant and something they will want to wear again. They keep telling me not to worry about if they will wear it again, but I want to find a dress that they WILL wear again because I prefer that look over the 'prom' look. I think I am going to look at Macy's, Bloomingdales and Nordstrom for dresses.

I just started doing that, I started with Macys since they are pretty reasonable with their prices...nothing there

Check Mori Lee she has great dresses like that, or you may want to go with a two piece for that look by alfred angelo.

I pretty much checked everywhere. The thing is I have a pretty specific idea in my head of what I want and that *****...not to mention unwanted feedback from certain members of the bp. It's very frustrating. I really like all the Jim Hjelm dresses but I am not crazy about the lengths

Re: Since everyone is venting...
I'm looking for probably mid-calf or like an ankle length...I feel bad having the girls buy a dress and then making them pay for extra alterations to cut it

Maybe you can check to see how much it would be to have them custom made.

I think when you see a bridesmaid dress you know its a bridesmaid dress! The trend now is trying to find a dress that the girls can wear again. So you may want to check out dresses that are not categorized as bridesmaid.

I could be wrong, but someone at work got married two years ago and i think the bm's dresses were made by someone at the roosevelt field mall.. you can always start a thread asking where to go to get custom made bm dresses
