We met through mutual associates(not even friends really) we all knew each other at a local bar.
No one from this particular group knew anything about us being together for almost 2 years, it was an agreement on both mine and FH's part because we know they talk alot of crap and didnt want to ruin anything the two of us had. Basically we didnt want to be part of the rumor mill because these people are KNOWN to be sh*t talkers. Now that we;re engaged when I run into them I feel awkward because they always ask about how my relationship is etc. Though it may be good intentions, I know its not. They kinda like to talk behind ppl's backs. I know I shouldnt let it get to me, but it does. I know FH loves me and I love him too but I do feel that when I see these people thats ALL they talk about-nothing else like they used to ya know?
Do any of you guys deal with people like that? I swear man sometimes I think its outright jealousy...

Chatterboxes are generally one of two things - (i)people who are too concerned with 'keeping up with with everyone else'' (a mild form of jealousy)or (ii) bored and need to create excitement for themelves.
I say repsond by telling them how fabulous life really is for you these days. Chatterboxes only like bad news and details so either they will leave you alone or they really are just being sincere and friendly.

You know I was complaining about it to one of my friends(who is also engaged) and she said ya know what Donna, they never bothered with you and him like that till the two of you got together...she said the same thing-tell them everything is fabulous and they'll lose interest.

ughh i def have those people in my life, and exactly like you said...its like they thrive on other peoples lives and get off on it. and then talk behind your back ! some people can be so nosey its insane. i try to give out as little info as possible now to those certain people

I know. You're 100% right! Fh is like they're nothin but losers who drive around burning gas seein if they're gonna run into people from the neighborhood and to find out juice!
Plus they wanted to know the 'real' cause of death with one of my best friends. Gimme a break. You think I blurted it out? No way.

another one of my close close friends is with this guy they all used to know (keep in mind, this is men AND women!) and sometimes when I see them they ask about my friend and her man too!!! they're like ' oh is so and so still together??' and i just say yep.

yea sometimes i feel like that... which is why i dont say much about the relationship.. sometimes i'll avoid the whole engagement part, cuz i dont want anyone sending bad vibes my way... i have enough with his family, i dont need more....

OMG this is the 'coffee girls' in the morning. They sit in the classroom next to mine and talk about EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING NON STOP. I say 'Good morning' and go downstairs to hang out with the first grade teacher. The first thing she says is 'What gossip were they bs about now?' and i always say 'Everyone, theyre probably talking about me now' lol
