I figured I'd ask another favor question. I STILL havent made up my mind. Im having the hardest time making a decision. Here's my latest idea: The Breakfast buffet. It would consist of a choice of donuts, cookies, bagels, croissants and a coffee pack and a newsday? Opinions?

Is this for the morning after the wedding or later in the party.

Re: Since the boards are dead....
I have been to a lot of weddings where each couple got a Sunday Paper (early edition) and a bag with 2 bagels when the wedding ends at 1am-ish.
I think its a cool idea!

It would be a table set up with everything after the reception. You take what you want for breakfast the next morning.

Re: Since the boards are dead....
not a bad idea...alot of my guests wouldnt 'get it' cause they are old but its the new hip thing to do
my concern is that noone will take anything since they are full from cocktail/dinner/dessert

Re: Since the boards are dead....
I've actually been at big long weddings where after the dessert they have a hot buffet table where there is real breakfast, eggs, pancakes, bacon...etc..that's nuts! But people ate it.

Re: Since the boards are dead....
my fh tells me all about his aunts wedding about 10 years ago....it was at Leonards and they had 700 people there, rented the entire place and it didnt end until 4 am so they did the breakfast buffet too!
I still get when I see pics and hear the stories
((it ended in divorce btw so a huge wedding isnt necessarily a great thing!))

I'd make packages instead of soemthing (donuts & paper, bagel & paper) whatever - people may not want to wait in line at the end of the night when they have to wait in line for the valet and maybe wait in line for the coat check too. Just a thought ... maybe set up a coffee stand near the valet.

I like the idea.. but have you thought of a car pack instead for the ride home.. like water, tylenol for those with hang overs, tums for those who ate too much.. umm a little snack for the car.. it also depends on how late its ending too...

Good thinking, I never would have thought of that.

I definitely LOVE the idea but by the end of the night everyone's feet hurt, they are sobering up and they are tired from the long day and they are looking forward to getting home ASAP. So making it as easy/ a simple process as possible is key. As for the coffee, I'd see if the hall could set up a few stations (maybe 2) with double Caraffes or something to eleviate the congestion (like on either side of the door before they go out to valet.

I've also seen a NY pretzel stand, or cotton candy stand or newspapers and bagels stands...oh, also choco dipped strawberries as everyone is leaving.

I like the idea!!! I had a bagel cart with cream cheese, jelly, and little packets of coffee for people to take home. Everyone loved it!!! and at least you know it is a favor that will actually get used and not something that will be a dust collector or thrown away - JMHO

I think its a really cute idea too, especially if you're looking to end your reception late.
I agree w/ the above post, depending on how many guests your having, I think packaging them, rather than having a buffet, might be better for your guests.
