i know this has been asked before...but are DOCs really necessary?
i was totally against getting one at first bc i felt like it was a waste. We have a BA and Maitre D who are supposed to do be there to help us on the day of. Lately, I have been feeling like it might be nice to have help making the day stress free....i have a large bridal party so they could probably help get them in order...i just don't wanna step on any toes (ppl who work at the RH)...
i spoke with FH and he agreed we can get one if I want...but I am still torn about whether or not we need it...what are your thoughts?

Re: since we have been talking about DOCs
My thoughts are, get one. The DOC is there for you getting ready and at the church...She is the one who worries if the unity candles are set up, the bo-k's came in perfect, keeps everyone on time. Personally, I am a HUGE worrying controlling person. I got a DOC so I can be able to let go and let someone else do it for me. I dont want to worry about if things are the way i want them and I dont want my mother/moh to worry about these things too...The DOC is there to make sure you get what you want the way you want it...

Re: since we have been talking about DOCs
i am against a DOC. i think the money can be spend some place else. i am the type of person who doesn't depend on anyone else to doing anything for me. i do things my way & i rather take care of every little thing because i know it will be done correctly (or at least my way).

I got one so that I will have a hopefully peaceful day and not have to worry about anything because I have a DOC to worry about everything for me and this way no one in my family will be bothered with questions either

Re: since we have been talking about DOCs
From day one I knew I wanted a DOC. FH was not really crazy about the idea but after coming with me to speak to 2 different DOC's; he agreed that I will most likely need one. My main reason for getting one is to keep FMIL and any drama away from me. My DOC did say sometimes people at the RH do not appreciate having her there but she can be helpful when the banquet manager and maitre d are off making sure the food is alright, etc.
Is it a necessary, I don't think it is. Having a DOC is more of a luxury.

Re: since we have been talking about DOCs
i felt like christine at first in the beginning...but getting a DOC is the best decision I have ever made during this wedding process. Not only do they take care of everything the day of...but my DOC has offered so many suggestions and ideas...I seriously don't think my wedding vision would have come to light without her. I would definitely get one.
ETA: I know a lot of girls say 'well my mom and moh can take care of stuff that morning' my personal opinion is I don't want my friends and family to help...I want all my girls to relax with me that morning and just have fun....I don't want my mom worrying about if the pew bows look right.
