Since we're on the topic of cars....

Am I the only one who is emotionally attached to my car?
My lease was up Monday and I got the same exact model and color in a 2003. It had a defect and had to go back. Now I am all sad bc I miss my old car! I have another car coming in this Monday but I want my old one back......*sigh*....I think I'm REALLY losing it!

I absoluely love my car. i definitely feel attached to it. it was my first major purchase after college and now 8 years, 4 jobs and 96k miles later, i can't bear to part with it! i call it the Mighty Toyota! for now it's good - but once we have kids, i will have to get something bigger and with better safety features.

I wouldn't say I am emotionally attached to my car. But I do live and breath 'car talk' because of hubby's business.

That stinks about your car. What kind is it and when do you think you'll get it back?

Although I am not attached to my car, I'd be completely lost without it.

I'm not getting the defective 2003 back, I'm getting a new one. It's stinks bc I had it ordered just to my liking and it died with 58 miles on it. They can't locate another one in blue with the options I want either...Monday Im getting a 2003 white 2 door blazer.
I just gave up my 2000 blue indigo metallic blazer. It's still on the lot and I can get it through my dad but he's all about me getting the new one. I'm going Monday to look at the white one but I don't think anything will compare to the 2000! I never had any problems with it and she was sooo pretty! I'm insane!

My lease is up Tuesday and although I love my Honda, I will never lease again!

I hate leasing

But yes I will miss 'my baby'

Unfortunately, I can't say I'm attached to my car. I'd get a new one in a heartbeat
Not that I've ever had a problem with it, it's a good car, just would love newer and nicer

Jennbaby unfortunately leasing is highly unlikely in NY now because of the vicarious liability law. However, there are other options out there similar to leasing, except the owner/driver will hold title not the bank or lien holder. I owned my old car, and lease my present car.

I just found that out when I tried to extend my lease & couldn't.

I am buying MIL's car

I love my car. I am completely and totally attached to it. I don't even like when DH drives it because he always changes my mirror and seat!!!

Yes, GM has done away with leasing and replaced it with SmartBuy. You make payments on the car (around the same amount as a lease) and when 3 years is up you either pay a lump sum or give it back to the dealer. Really the only difference is you have the title to the car.
