Im sure alot of people grew up in a single mother household....are you walking with your mother or father? I want to honor my mother in a special way but do not know exactly how to go about it. My father is still in the picture but i have much more respect for my mother he never helped to much. Thank you

Re: Single Mom...
If you want to go traditional and walk down with your dad and you still want to recognize your mom, you can do what a friend of mine did and dedicated her bo-k to her mother... she made a little presentation and everything.

That's a very nice idea Kim. I don't find anything wrong with walking with your mom down the aisle, my FH's cousin did that I thought it was great!

Re: Single Mom...
Go for it!! Have her walk you down the aisle. I did this, and so did my sister. She's raised us alone for many, many years and I wouldn't have had it any other way!!! I even had a special dance of 'How Sweet it Is to Be Loved by You' by James Taylor with her, and my sister joined in. It was very touching, it meant a lot to her!!

Re: Single Mom...
My parents separated for the 1st time when I was 8, and officially when I was 16. My mom has always been there for me, but my dad is still in the picture as well. So I decided to have both of my parents walk me down the aisle.

Re: Single Mom...
That sounds like my situation with my parents as well. -I had both of them walk me down the aisle -I put a special note in our programs thanking my mom -DH and I took the mic and thanked everyone for coming to our wedding and then he thanked my mom for helping me with everything -I danced with my dad bc I wanted to say that at least he was there for that
I had thought about giving my BoK to my mom but then I ended up keeping it.
You could also do a special dance with your mom, or have your FH dance with her.

Re: Single Mom...
I'm probably having my mom and dad walk me down the isle. My parents are divorced too and my mom raised me. My dad and I just recently became close about 3 years ago.
