I am used to getting sinus infections, but this time it's really scaring me! I don't have the symptoms of an infection, but my sinuses are SO backed up for TWO days now that it's literally draining down my NECK and my neck is killing me too! This headache hasn't gone away in TWO days : ( Anybody else feeling like this too?
I get that sometimes. I take Advil Cold & Sinus (it's behind the counter at most drug stores) and I just started doing nasal irrigation. I use the squeeze bottle kind. It's amazing! Afterwards, you feel like you can breathe so much better and you definetly feel clearer!
It's allergies. They are really bad right now, especially trees. I got back from Vegas last night and I'm so allergic to dust (no place better to be than the desert!) and couldn't wait to get home. This morning I go to my car and it's covered in pollen! I can't win! Thankfully I have an appointment with my allergy doc tomorrow. You should look into seeing one. We develop allergies over time so what you may not have been allergic to before you are allergic to now.
i have serious allergy/sinus issues too!! I feel like I'm going to the doc every month from sinus infections....I just got a referral today to go see an allergist. I'm thinking about trying that treatment where you go get a shot every week, so hopefully my sinuses will be better over time. I feel your pain!! I have a horrible headache today too!! I take nasonex spray everyday (prescription) and a claritin, and when I get a headache either Tylenol sinus or recently I tried Dayquil sinus, its pretty good! feel better!!
A friend of mine told me about a home remedy that I swear by! I used to get a lot of sinus infections and since she told me about this, I always do this when my sinuses start to bother me and I have avoided getting infections if I catch it early enough.
Pour a cup of water into a pot. Squeeze the juice of two fresh limes into the water and let it come to a boil. Once it's boiling, put the rinds (fruit side down) into the water and let it come to a boil again. Remove the rinds, naturally, and drink this as quick as you can while it is still hot. It may seem nasty, but I got used to it. If it seems that bad to you, add a little honey. I told my doctor about it once and she laughed, but said it was a good idea...you're getting a good dose of Vitamin C.
Do it for several days. Within the first day or so, it has always helped break up all the congestion. When you have that splitting headache and feel all that pressure in your sinuses, it really helps. Try it...it can't hurt.
You may want to try nasal irrigation. It's also called neti or jala neti. You rinse out your sinuses using a neti pot or SInuCleanse, which is available at drugstores. It's a home remedy. Good luck!
not sure how you spell it-and it is expensive-mucasin (like you see on tv-the green monster guy with the suitcase). Moist heat humider, warm shower and very hot rags on your face. I suffer from them all the time in case you can't tell. Use nose spray too. feel better.
Sounds like allergies to me.....even before the runny nose/itchy eyes/sneezing...I feel like this. You could try something over the counter or go to the doc. I usually need a nasal spray and an antihistamine like zyrtec when I feel like that. Good luck!!!! I'm dreading allergy season!

I just got back from the pharmacy and have a Z-pack for the infection and bouth allergy medicine and motrin for the pain........I pray this works! I am going with my BM's to see their dresses AND go buy a veil/tiara today I just want the pressure pain to go away! THanks for your well wishes!
I don't know if they are allergies because I've had this same sinus infection on and off since September! I guess I should check out an ear, nose and throat doctor!
Glad that it works for you...........it's sickening that NOTHING makes me feel better. I am SO willing to have whatever procedure done to NEVER suffer like this again. It's really ridiculous when you think about all the time I spend sniffling, headache-y, ear infection-y and miserable......I mean, how many doses of antibiotics can I take?
