How long does it usually take a sinus infection to clear up? And if it's not a really major case, do you have to go get antibiotics from a doctor?
TIA!

Re: Sinus infection question
A normal sinus infection for me usually clears up in a week. Anything longer I go to the doc for antibiotics. My doctor will not give me antibiotics for a sinus infection unless it is severe or I have had it for around two or more weeks. He is not the type that will just hand you a prescription.

Just be careful that it doesn't turn into an ear infection, though...if your ear starts bugging you, go right in for the antibiotics! I would give it a week also, as long as it isn't getting worse.

I did too. I had one atleast once a month in the winter. Now I get allergy shots. Ever since 3 years ago when I started them, I never get them any more!

I am supposed to take allergy meds to avoid them but have too many side effects.
