I am sitting here listen to father/daughter dance songs and crying hysterically, my wedding is almost four months away and yet everytime I listen to a song like these or even love songs on the radio my eyes swell up with tears...........is there something wrong with me? How am I going to make it through my wedding day without looking like a crying fool or worse yet washing away my makeup? Sorry, but I had to tell someone, I can't take this anymore, I feel overwhelmed with emotion lately.

Re: Sitting here crying....
I hear you completely. I never cried at weddings, or even cried at all unless I was hurt until I got engaged. All of a sudden the slightest sappy thing sets me off.
I don't know what it is, but it's like a water fountain came attached to the ring.

There is nothing wrong with you. I am going through the same thing. Everything makes me cry, listening to music, thinking about moving out and the rehersal dinner and the wedding itself. These are big things that just make us sentimental and emotional.

I think it is natural. The same exact thing happened to me in the car the other day, by the time I got home FH thought there was seriously something wrong. If you cry that day it is nothing more than you showing emotion for the other man in your life - nothing wrong with that!

Re: Sitting here crying....
thanks, but I finally made it through the whole list of songs and I am still crying like a blubbering idiot, I guess I know this is normal in a way, but at the same time I never expected these things to happen. Honestly I feel like I will spend my wedding day crying, I so far have been the biggest cryer at both FSIL wedding and FH's cousin's wedding. Oh well, what happens happens I guess....I am not sure that I can help it.

OMG - I listen to You Raise me Up by Josh Groban, imagining a photo montage of me and my dad for our father-daughter dance - forget about it... total water works moment....

let me tell you.. I am a strong person and when it came to my wedding day I cried doing my vows and I cried dancing w/ my mom. My friends were like we have known you for 30 years and I have never seen you cry so much.. It is very overwhelming..

There's nothing wrong with you, this is perfectly normal!!!! I would burst out crying on my way home from work or on my way to work in my car for no apparent reason during the months leading up to my wedding.
I'll be the first to admit that I'm a blubbering fool over the tinest little thing. And was SO sure I was going to look like an idiot on my wedding day. I even called my father the night before the wedding and told him he was not allowed to look at me, kiss me, hug me or tell me he loves me right before we walk down the aisle, because I would lose it!
And you know what?? I was sooooooooo incredibly composed the entire day. I was calm cool and collected, that those closest to me thought I must have taken a sedative when I woke up!
I was the complete opposite of what I thought I'd be on my wedding day.

I don't cry necessarily - but I get a little teary and then sometimes I have a chill that goes through my body (but in a good, sappy way).

Re: Sitting here crying....
I totally understand since I am naturally an overly emotional person. Since I got my ring I am about 10 times worse...literally a walking disaster. Everything sets me off. I'll probably be a puddle the day-of.

Re: Sitting here crying....
I was never really much of a cryer over emotional things, usually just when I was hurting. But ever since getting engaged I've become more and more of a cryer, my emotions are right on the surface and it's been so easy for me to get set-off lately.
On the other hand, certain things make me laugh and I'm so afraid that I'm going to be cracking up in giggles during our vows. I think that would be much worse, everyone's going to think I'm crazy!!
