Let's say you have a younger sibling who lives with you. You charge them rent which is less than $200 but never on time, but they are moving out soon. You have offered them many things and have helped them get setup so far by providing furniture for their room they live in now, free of charge. You are looking to have a garage sale but know that the sibling is moving out and have mentioned the stuff you want to offload because if you don't it will all go into storage for a few years and you will get new stuff from your wedding anyways. Do you SELL them the items for cheap or just GIVE them the items? Mind you they are taking with them all the furniture you purchased for the extra room free of charge.

i would just give them to them, when i moved out for the first time i had nothing and i was so grateful for anything people gave me for my new place.

I'd ask them if they wanted it or part of it and give it to them for free. Also depends on how much money you would get if you sold it - if it's $1,000 or less, it may not be worth the guilt.

The Furniture he is taking free of charge. It's the stuff like kitchen utensils a really nice vacuum I am also giving him an entertainment center, and yes FH and I are hurting for $$$ because of the wedding and parents not giving what they said they would which is the only reason we planned this big wedding because they promised this money(sorry had to vent there about that!)

being a sibling, or a good friend i would just give them it as long as im not strapped for cash... its very nice when people give you things you need but cant afford...

I'd let him choose what he wants and sell the rest!
