Sizing Nightmare

A few months back I ordered a Bill Levkoff Bridesmaid dress from Macy's for my friends wedding. I had to order a size 18. I went to Macy's last month to go dress shopping for me...and they sized me and told me a 20. I hadn't received my Bill Levkoff dress yet...so figured maybe I gained some weight or they ran differently....whatever.

I get my BM dress yesterday (size 18) and it's a little big...everywhere...but the lady at Macy's said it would be easy and fine to be altered. Then I start questioning my size 20 wedding gown....I looked up the size charts online for Bill Levkoff & Demitrios....I don't see why I was told to order a size 20....

THEN I call Macy's and asked if there was a limit on how many sizes a gown can be taken in...they said they can take it in as much or as little as needed and the fact that it is a tie up back will perhaps eliminate needing much taken in.

My gown isn't VERY detailed...but it does have beading on both sides...and I'm freaking that I am going to get my dress and it's going to be a parachute...since I am trying to lose a little weight anyway!

Has anyone had their dress taken in 2 sizes or more? I don't know if I should call and try to change my order to at least a size 18....I just don't see how they can alter it 2-3 sizes and have it look as perfect as before....

You can't really compare different designers because their templates all run differently.

I was a size 16 Watters BM dress and I'm a size 14 Demetrios wedding gown. Street size? 8 or 10...but even street size sometimes I wear an 8; sometimes I wear a 10. See where I'm going. Every designer cuts their clothing differently.

Macy's will make sure both of your dresses fit perfect. Don't worry.

Don't worry, the seamstress will be able to size it to fit you perfectly. No worries

I just talked to a bridal salon that said they had a bride lose 100 pounds and they could alter it!!!
